Dreyer’s groundbreaking 1932 horror film, with its story of a female vampire who haunts a mysterious European castle, is a visual poem of trance-like images that seems to take place on the frontier between dreams and reality. The Flushing Remonstrance unite the sound of their eerie and powerful score with Dreyer’s haunting light and shadow for a transfixing live experience.
